Urban Winemaking (LAUNCHING IN 2022)
In early 2022, we also plan to launch an Urban Winemaking series. These will be live, instructor-led via Zoom.
The Midwest has a rich tradition of in-home, urban winemaking, using the recipes and traditions of immigrant ancestors who made wine for centuries as an integral part of family life and culture. We want to connect with this community of wine lovers with these family- and community-based winemaking traditions. We will have classes for students who want to make their very first batch of wine, those who want to improve upon the in-home, urban winemaking they are already doing, and those who want to confer and share knowledge with other urban winemaking professionals. We'll have a class or other offering for every urban winemaker, whether aspiring or experienced, to engage, learn, and connect through the winemaking process and traditions!
The offerings we are working on are shown below.
Stay tuned for more details!
Courses we plan to offer include:
- Urban Winemaking for Beginners Course
- Becoming an Expert Urban Winemaker
- Urban Winemakers’ Forum
